Fire Catalysts are one of the four variants of catalyst zombies, originating from the map Voyage of Despair, and appearing similar to the Napalm Zombie from Shangri-La.
Fire Catalyst zombies are very similar to the Napalm Zombie, moving slowly and exploding upon death or when a player gets too close to them. However, they will start sprinting at you if not killed shortly after being seen by them. Naturally, the way to defeat them is also similar to the Napalm Zombie, maintaining a distance and shooting them in their weak points to cause them to explode at a safe distance.
