The Eye of Malice is extremely tanky and is health-gated for a five-phase boss fight. The only time you can do damage to the eye is when it is shooting its Eye Beam attack, and you have a limited time to do damage, as the attack only lasts for about 5 seconds.

The Hellion Salvo is the best weapon for dealing as much damage as possible to the eye during the damage phase, while also having the added lock-on feature to ensure you do not miss the eye.
