Dragon Shield Upgrade

This side quest has players get fifty kills using the Guard of Fafnir, then locate three lines of Apothicon Symbols around the map and shoot them with the ranged attack of your shield. Finally, you must stand in Dragon Fire with your shield out until you hear an audio cue.

• Fifty kills with the Guard of Fafnir

Step 1: Shoot the Apothicon Symbols

Step 2: Stand in Dragon Fire

Wait for the Dragon to breathe fire on an area in the map, and bring out your shield to be able to stand within the fire without taking damage until you hear a dragon roar audio cue, indicating you are ready to claim your upgraded shield.

The Dragon Roar audio cue for this quest is much different than a normal dragon roar that can be heard while playing the map, it is louder, longer, and more aggresive which should make it stand out from the regular dragon roar.

Head to the Spawn area where the challenges are located and look at the open dead Dragon corpse, where you will be prompted to "Press <interact-button> to Upgrade Shield.", which once pressed should take your shield and dump it into the pool of blood where it will come out as the upgraded shield Timat's Maw.
